Post Malone ha estat el gran triomfador dels Billboard Music Awards que s’han entregat aquesta nit als Estats Units. El músic ha estat el vencedor en 9 categories entre elles com millor artista, millor artista masculí, millor artista Billboard 200, millor artista Hot 100 o millor disc de rap per “Hollywood’s Bleeding”.
La millor cançó de l’any ha estat ‘Old Town Road’ de Lil Nas X i Billy Ray Cyrus, sense moltes sorpreses i és que és la cançó que té el rècord de setmanes al primer lloc de la Billboard Hot 100.
Billie Eilish ha estat la guanyadora a artista revelació, millor disc per “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?”, així com a millor artista femenina. En la categoria de millor grup els afortunats han estat Jonas Brothers, mentre que els fans han votat a BTS com a artista social o a Shawn Mendes i Camila Cabello amb ‘Señorita’ com a millor col·laboració. Khalid també ha brillat en algunes categories de R&B, així com Kanye West en els apartats de gospel i música cristiana.
La gala va deixar algunes actuacions musicals destacades d’artistes com Sia, BTS, Doja Cat, Alicia Keys o Kelly Clarkson, en una cerimònia que es va celebrar sense públic.
